2019 Arkansas State Open Checker Tournament 

August 24th & 25th 2019 - (Saturday & Sunday)
Arkansas State Checkers Tournament "Diamond in the Rough"

We will be playing at the Guesthouse Inn, in the breakfast room. Registration starts at 10:00 am, tournament to begin at 10:30 am. Entry fee is $25.00. Tournament will be 3-Move. This is an ACF sanctioned tournament. Players must be an ACF member. The Arkansas State winner must be a current Arkansas resident.

New This Year - The Minors Division will be Go-As-You-Please for amateur players. Encourage your friends, coworkers, or family members to enter with you.

Call to reserve your room.  The rooms will be around $62.00 plus tax. The Guesthouse is near interstate 540 and highway 71 South.  It is behind Farmers Bank next to Wal-Mart, same place as last year.  Be sure to let them know you are with the checkers tournament.

The tournament will be at the Guesthouse Inn, in the breakfast room.  Registration starts at 10:00 am, tournament to begin at 10:30 am. Entry fee is $25.00. Tournament will be 3-Move. This is an ACF sanctioned tournament. Players must be an ACF member. The Arkansas State Tournament is open to everyone but the State Winner must be a current Arkansas resident. We recognize an Arkansas State Champion and a First Place Winner if the player is an out of state participant. New This Year - The Minors Division will be Go-As-You-Please for amateur players.  Encourage your friends, coworkers, or family members to enter with you.

1st- Johnny Barham (AR)- 20 points  AR State Champion

2nd- George Stallsworth (MO)- 15 points

3rd- Quint Hodges (AR)- 7 points

Albert Tucker also came, but left early due to weather concerns.

 

2019 Arkansas 3-Move Open

 

   We had four players show up, but due to the weather conditions Albert Tucker decided not to enter the tournament and headed back to Louisiana.

    There were two players from Arkansas, Johnny Barham & Quint Hodges, and one player from Missouri, George Stallsworth.

    We played a 3-Move tournament and chose to play two rounds of round robin. We were able to complete the tournament in one day.

   Johnny Barham defended his title and remains the Arkansas State Champion. Johnny also scored the highest and won first place. This is two years in a row for Johnny Barham to be the state champion.

 George Stallsworth took second place and Quint Hodges came in third place.

 Thank you Joe McDaniel for your donation of $500.00 to the prize money. We had $575.00 prize money. We had one ACF membership renewal.
